Whether you are the next “Barefoot Contessa” in the kitchen, or you simply heat up pre-made goodies from the grocery store and take all of the compliments on how delicious everything is – we’ve got a fantastic DIY project for you – DIY aprons! There is a lot to like about this project.
To start: this is an excellent beginner’s sewing project. So whether you want to sew it by hand, or you’ve just gotten a new sewing machine, a DIY apron is a great project to try. This is also a great project to do as a family, older kids and tweens/teens. You can make matching aprons, even ones with everyone’s names on them too!
A DIY apron is a fun housewarming or “just because” gift for family & friends. Lots of these are so charming, we know the party hostess will want to wear it even as the party gets started, to serve guests. Why, they will receive just about as many compliments on their apron, as they do on the delicious food that they serve!
Most of our DIY projects here are very much beginner-friendly. A few of them require more intermediate sewing skills. If you are uncertain, ask a family member or friend to take a look at the DIY project before you get started, to give you confidence.
One of our favorite things about making DIY aprons? Just about every project here, you can not only complete in a weekend, but even in an afternoon! These are a fantastic way to try a new DIY project, if you’ve never done a sewing project. Aprons are both pretty and practical, we know you will use them regularly, or whoever you give it to will do so.
So, let’s get started! Happy DIY-ing!
